During W51, FOB prices for pineapple at McAllen, United States, have recorded a higher average for this season segment. Mexican supplies are falling short in volume due to adverse climate conditions impacting export quality available in the markets. Prices quoted by some distributors in the area stood at USD 13.50 to 15.50 per 12.3 kilogram box (kg) for sizes 5s and 6s, USD 11.50/12.3kg for 7s, and USD 9 to 10/12.3kg for 8s. Prices are expected to remain stable for the next couple of weeks, influenced by the Christmas holiday period, which is not anticipated to affect demand due to reduced market operations.
