The European Parliament has declared that all plant-based products such as burgers, sausages, fillets, and others, can make use of such names to label and marketize their products. This is a huge win for plant-based products and a huge blow to meat producers, who promoted the banning of such names for products that were not meat-based. However, the question of whether plant-based products can make use of names from the dairy industry such as butter, milk, and others, remain open to discussion in each individual parliament.
