Live pork prices have been on record in most Brazilian markets since September. The increase in prices is attributed to the increase in exports to Asian countries in the past few months. In October alone, Brazil exported almost 78K MT of pork and the domestic market also had a substantial demand for meat. Although prices have increased the production cost are also remain high. The climate among pig farmers remains uncertain as the majority of the exports are destined to China and Hong Kong. There is not much certainty about what will happen in the medium and long term.
