Potato harvest has started in the Turkish city of Bayburt where the potato production takes place on 500 hectares. Although the city is suitable for animal husbandry in terms of climate and vegetation, potato production is just one of the additional sources of income for the farmers.

The most preferred varieties in Bayburt are varieties such as Lady Olimpia, Marabel, Agria, and, Marfona. The farmers harvested around 2.5-3 tons of potatoes per 1,000 square meters. The expected annual production volume in the city is around 14 kmt.
