The Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (FMARD) insisted the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Investment (FMITI) on ensuring quality assurance, especially raw cashew nuts where Nigeria is a viable global supplier. Meanwhile, Ogbomoso in the South West and Kogi State in the Northcentral area account for 65% of the total raw cashew nuts production in Nigeria.
