Quality issues lead the Greek kiwi export to an early end

The cold stores dedicated for prolonged kiwi storage are gradually opening, and the QC control outcome is very poor. The quality condition of the Greek kiwi seems similar to that of April, and overseas programmed exports, in many cases, have been halted.

The average waste percentage is near 15%, which determines a very early end for the Greek kiwi season of exports. The domestic market and Europe will be the center of attention for Greek exporters where they will compete with cheap and of dubious quality fruit. At the same time, the price for overseas exports is expected to increase to record high levels before the New Zealand kiwi season starts.
