Root and tuber producers in the northern region of Costa Rica have encountered unfavorable developments in W21. The anticipated onset of rainfall predicted for W19, has been delayed due to the impact of the ENOS (El Niño) phenomenon. Producers are facing a substantial deficiency in rainfall, forcing them to halt planting in areas lacking irrigation capabilities. This circumstance is forecasted to persist until early July.
