Due to the rainy season starting in the Melon producing area in the North East of Brazil, growers are already finding it complicated to fulfill their orders as planned. During January and February, rain starts to harm production, delaying harvest and maturity of fruits, causing bottlenecks on their export plan. This has been the same this year. The main issues are fruits getting late on their cycle and fruits getting too big when harvested. Another concern is "Quarantine," as the products are being stored for 48 hours before packing to be checked for problems such as bacterial attending or any other issues concerning the quality of the fruits.
