Turkey may start the new season with carry-in supplies of organic sultanas (golden raisin) for the first time ever. Prices are highly attractive. Production, however, very much depends on the weather and traders prefer to be cautious at present, despite encouraging production prospects.
Turkey’s sultana exports continue to perform well. Suppliers are not only busy shipping existing contracts but are also receiving new inquiries. While weekly exports ranged at 4,797 mt in 2021, they currently range at 5,497 mt. Turkey has shipped 189,509 mt of seedless dried raisins overseas this season so far, which is 18,000 mt up in 2021.
