There is less tension among Tanzanian RCN (Raw Cashew Nut) exporters for the 2022/23 season since the government granted permission for the use of 3 ports for RCN exports this year including the principal port of Dar es Salaam, Mtwara and Tanga. During the 2021/22 season the government granted permission to use only the port of Mtwara for the export of all RCN produced in the southern region. This situation created the fear of loss of business window for Tanzania RCN due to scarcity in container vessels coupled with high freight rates for export through the port of Mtwara.
