In the last two months of the 2022/23 hazelnut export season, 56,763MT of hazelnuts were exported from Turkiye with USD 315M, which is a decrease of 18% in quantity and 30% in value compared to the same period of the previous year. The energy crisis and recession in European countries, the reduction of production and the cost increase of some companies or the complete stoppage of production, the lack of stock, and the reduction of orders by some of them had a negative impact on exports. It is predicted that this situation will continue until the end of the year in European countries, which are the largest markets for the hazelnut industry.
