Iranian agricultural production output is going towards record-breaking levels, especially during the global pandemic conditions. The country has accelerated agricultural growth during the pandemic in order to create more self-sufficiency in food and agricultural production. Tomato production output has proven to be quite prolific with over 6 million tons from the very beginning of the fiscal year until now (since March 20). Iran produces around 7 million tons of tomatoes annually and the total expected output will likely exceed the regular annual production output.
