2021 Red Pepper harvest offers hope to farmers

Farmers are satisfied with Red pepper harvest this year. Capia pepper, also known as "oil pepper", "pepper for paste" and "red pepper", is produced on approximately 2500 hetares of land covering Karacabey, Mustafakemalpasa, Inegol, and Yenisehir regions. Harvest started in late September and pastes producers produced pepper paste until the end of October. In the 2021's crop, pepper prices increased by 100% compared to the 2020's crop which eventually affected final products; pepper paste and grilled red pepper. Export prices have increased about 40% compared to 2020.
