In the first half of Jan-24, based on preliminary statistics from the General Department of Customs, Vietnam exported 194,074 metric tons (mt) of rice, generating a turnover of USD 134.57 million. Despite a decrease in rice export volume by nearly 32 thousand mt compared to the same period in 2023, the turnover increased by almost USD 20 million. This increase is attributed to a rise in the average value per ton by 36.68% year-on-year (YoY) for exported rice, reaching USD 693/mt, compared to approximately USD 507/mt in the same period last year.
