The rice harvest stage has already started in Paraguay. There will be a considerable yield loss due to the long drought experienced in October and November last year. Fortunately, the rainfall from December helped to recover some of the areas that were considered completely lost. Regarding the export volumes, 70% will be addressed to Brazil and 30% to new markets. Also, it is reported that the Paraguayan exporters have a special interest in strengthening their position in Turkey, Mexico, and Peru.
