Ukraine-Russian war is putting price pressure on the availability of sockeye in the market. Russian supply represents 35% of the total catch in the supply market, and Alaskan supply represents 75%. Russian sockeye entry into the USA and the Canadian market is banned. Although a biomass recovery of the Alaskan sockeye is optimistic for the next season, in the short term, there is pressure for the price to go higher.
