During W14, Saudi authorities imposed a complete import ban on all types of shrimp from India until further notice. There were reports of WSSV detection in recent shipments of Indian shrimps to Saudi Arabia. While there was a restriction already on Indian Vannamei, this new ban further included the deep sea shrimps in the restricted category. The ban was notified on the renewed SFDA list for approved Indian seafood establishments. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) is now the second country in GCC after Qatar to impose such a ban.
