Scottish seed potato exporters regarded Russia as a potential destination to compensate losses on the EU market resulting after Brexit. After the invasion on Ukraine, besides moral issues of dealing with businesses from an aggressor country, they also consider the risks related to purely practical aspects: rapid devaluation of rubles, decreasing purchasing power in Russia, and risks related to payments, once the major Russian banks were disconnected from SWIFT. A big question is if any shipping companies are willing to send their ships to the Russian ports.
