Japanese shrimp processors are suffering from the constant rise in the value of whiteleg Shrimp from South East Asia. Since Whiteleg Shrimp products have stable demand in the market, those processors could not stop their production. However, according to the trading companies and processors, a shortage of shrimp of a major size for processing, 61/70, is now forecast. Some processors are changing the marketing strategy to limit their line-up, raise the price, or decrease each item's size.
