Chilean Atlantic Salmon Prices in the US Market Surged by 9.2% WoW Amid Harvest Volume Reduction

At the end of W2, prices for fresh Chilean Atlantic salmon fillets surged by a notable 9.2% weekly in the United States (US) market. The new price ranged between USD 6.50 to 6.65 per pound (lb) for 2/3 lb fillets and USD 6.60 to 6.75/lb for 3/4 lb fillets (FOB Miami). This increase is due to concerns about potential algae bloom events, similar to those experienced a few weeks ago, coupled with a decrease in harvest volumes from certain producers.
