In the first three quarters of 2020, the import volume of buffalo meat showed a slight increase in comparison to the volume imported last year during the same period. In the span of January to September this year, the import volume has been reported to be at 120 KMT, which is a 2.08% increase from 2019 at 117.5 KMT. A number of reporters believe that the number can increase even more, to roughly 140 KMT by the end of 2020. This is predicted as a result of another batch of imported meat needing to be sourced, in order to supply the demand from the national consumers and to secure stock heading into the Christmas season.
