Kenyan 2022/23 Pineapple Season Expecting High Volumes

The 2022/23 Kenyan pineapple season is projected to have a higher production volume compared to the previous season which reached 21,538MT. The increased production will be due to favourable weather conditions experienced during the 2022/23 season. The high volumes are expected to see pineapple prices reach as low as USD 0.50 per piece. In comparison, Smooth Cayenne pineapples are trading at USD 0.67 per kg in W36. Kilifi County, one of the leading production regions of pineapple in Kenya, is expected to have Smooth Cayenne in season in November this year.
