Demand for scallops has increased in Japan, mainly in the metropolitan areas such as Tokyo and Osaka, but wholesale prices have been 1.5 times higher than in 2022, an unusual situation. The shipments in February 2023 barely changed compared to February 2022. Nonetheless, wholesale prices have been about 1.5 times higher than in 2022, which is unusual.
