South Africa’s 2022/23 Peach Season Expected to Deliver Good Volume and Quality

South Africa's 2022/23 peach season is predicted to produce good quantity and quality fruit. Harvesting of early peach cultivars has started in the northern region of South Africa. The fruit is reportedly large, with good shape and quality. Exports for the 2022/23 season are scheduled to commence in week 40, peaking during weeks 47-52, with the season ending in week 16 of 2023. The main markets and market share during the previous season were the UK with 42% followed by the Middle-East at 41% and Europe with 12%. The Indian Ocean Islands took 2% of peaches while the Far East / Asia, Russia, and Africa were each responsible for 1% market share.
