In terms of volume, the entire Argentine soybean complex, between January and October 2020, commercialized 32M tones. This accounts for a 13% volume reduction in a y-o-y comparison and a revenue decrease of U$D 12.3B which is to say a 7% drop if compared to the previous period.
Even though the average price of soybeans during the mentioned period improved by 2%, prices of Soybean flour/meal increased by 4% and soybean oil prices rose by 7%, they could not offset the overall drop as far as incomes go.
In terms of volume, the only product that grew during the first 10 months of 2020 was Soybean Oil (+3%). Soybean Flour/Meal decreased by 14% and Soybeans by 20% totaling, together, a decrease of 5M tons.
With regards to export shares, Soybean flour/Meal had a 54% share in the industry’s foreign sales, followed by oil (27%) and unprocessed beans (19%).
