From January to August, Spanish egg exports grew by 8%. This was led by an increase mainly from Asian markets, as well as some European countries. The main driver of this increase was China, whose economy quickly recovered from the effects of COVID-19 after strict measures were implemented to control and reduce the number of cases in the country.

Overall, the country reported sales for 115,000 MT, and sales increased by 17%, equivalent to €156 million.
