Ecuadorian Banana Spot Prices Dropped in W5 Due to the Earthquake in Turkey

In Ecuador, three vessels with a capacity of 360K boxes of 18.14kg of bananas were confirmed for W6. But due to the recent earthquake in Turkey in W5, demand dropped as two vessels got delayed and canceled, causing a FOB price drop from USD 13.85/13.5kg to 10.30/13.5kg box. The demand is forecasted to stabilize in 2-3 weeks as the Mersin port returns to operations.
