Storm Antonia, which hit all of the European and UK coastline with hurricane-force winds at weeks 8 and 9, has caused significant port delays in Rotterdam. Goods were unable to unload from the Rotterdam Port Authority due to the high winds. This caused a shortage of Mangos in the EU market on WK 8 as stocks ran out, and all replenishments were held up in the port. Importers expect this bottleneck to be alleviated in the coming week and for the market to regulate again, but whoever had mango stocks in NL this week was making good money due to the shortage created by Storm Antonia.
