The rainy weather which has been ongoing from end of April into the end of May is becoming a problem for stone fruit and kiwi orchards in Western and Northern Greece. Pollination and fruit development has stagnated, especially in cherries, apricots, early peaches, and green kiwis. Farmers cannot predict the effect at this moment, but by the first of week of June it will be possible to determine whether there is a drop in production and if there is any deterioration in quality.
