The strawberry harvest has started in Yayladağı, Hatay where most of the production is sold to buyers in other countries. These export strawberries are contracted well before the harvest period by the buyers as the buyers and suppliers do not want to waste any time after post-harvest due to the extremely limited shelf life of the product. Most of the buyers are from Russia and they make their purchase agreements with the suppliers before the start of the harvest.
