The Chinese government has implemented strict import regulations on seafood packaging, which has limited the import volume for seafood. The demand for locally harvest or caught seafood has increased as an alternative source for consumers. As a result, the demand for tilapia fillets has increased, and so does the price. The current offer for tilapia fillet is around $4.4USD/KG (FOB).
