Supply and logistical issues Hit US mushroom market and the supply is expected to decrease

Jack Harrison
Updated Oct 30, 2021
Supply chain shortages, transportation issues, labor shortages and crop disease have impacted the US mushroom production and the mushroom supply is expected to drop significantly over the holiday season. Mushroom production is dependent on other industry products, and one missing element can affect the whole crop. While limited to labor, producers have been working with 75% of their workforce in order to meet up with the demand. With the issues in the supply chain, transportation, labor and weather playing a big role in crop yield, experts suggest the mushroom market will be volatile for the foreseeable future.
