Hurricane Nora has left considerable damage by its pass on the south side of the State. There have been reports of damage to roads and bridges and to the southern production sector. In many cases, specialty items, like Asian niche products like opo, singcua, Asian eggplants, and bitter melons, are regularly planted very early in the season due to their growing nature. These items are expected to suffer damage in supply quantity in the following season that is about to start. The southern area of the State is known for growing these products and some regulars like tomatoes and peppers. Delays in these items are expected as well.
