The Russian government decided to suspend the provision of compensation for part of the transportation costs for the export of certain food products - sugar, potatoes, buckwheat, sunflower oil, and grain.
This is due to the fact that earlier, the government had already taken a number of measures to stabilize prices for these products in the domestic market: prices for sugar and sunflower oil were fixed in wholesale and retail; for grains and oilseeds, export restrictions were introduced in the form of quotas and export duties.
