Coffee to Be the First Tanzanian Product to Trade Under the African Continental Free Trade Area

The Tanzanian government announced that from July 1st, 2023, it will start exporting ten types of products to the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) market for the country to benefit from an integrated African market of over 1.3B people. Coffee will be the first Tanzanian product to trade under AfCFTA, which will not be sent in raw form but will be exported as a finished product. This was mentioned by the Minister for Investment, Industry, and Trade in Dar es Salaam during the Confederation of Tanzania Industries (CTI).
