Ratchaburi aromatic coconut or Maphrao Namhom Ratchaburi refers to the fragrant coconut with the following characteristics: Fresh green shape and pleated bottle. The center is round and has a consistent form. It has 2 layers of coconut meat and has a sweet taste and aromatic fragrant like pandan leaves. The Brix ranges from 7 to 10 degrees of sweetness.
Ratchaburi soil is loam and clay loam, which receives a small amount of rain 1,500 - 2,000 millimeters per year. The average temperature is 35 degrees Celsius. Ratchaburi has a coconut plantation area of 48 thousand acres, approximately 341 million MT per year of coconut.
70% of the coconut is sold to middlemen and shaped for exporting, 20% is sent to the factory for pasteurized juice or coconut snacks, and 10% remaining is sold to the local market.
For the fresh coconut in the local Thai market, the current price is USD 0.86 per nut. The farm selling price is USD 0.41 per nut, and the lowest price of 2021 was in February, around USD 0.15 per nut.
It can be forecast that regarding the fresh coconut selling prices in 2022 for the local Thai market, the lowest price will be in February, with an estimated price per nut is USD 0.24 per nut. The most expensive price range will be in April, with an estimated USD 0.95 per nut.
