The total production of the 2020/21 cycle is estimated to reach 120.8M tons (6.1% less than the previous cycle which produced 128.7M). In that same direction, there would also be a significant drop in the planted area of 1.2% for this new cycle, reaching 33.15M hectares compared to 33.5M in the previous season. The exports of these grains and their by-products would be around U$D 25B, 3% below those of 2020. In the conducted study, very relevant data stood out which indicates that corn will once again be the grain with the highest production in Argentina in the 2020/21 cycle, reaching 47M tons produced in 6.3M hectares, which implies 500K tons more than soybeans (46.5M, on 17.2M hectares). The Stock Exchange projects also project that 17.5M tons of wheat will be produced in 6.5M hectares; about 3.7M tons of barley planted in 900K hectares; 3.1M tones of sunflower in 1.4M hectares, and 3M tons of sorghum in 850K hectares.
