The decrease in Ukraine watermelon price

Watermelon prices hit record falling weekly. The average wholesale price for a quality watermelon in the production regions of Ukraine does not exceed 3 cents/kg. This is more than a second less than on the same date in 2020 and is the lowest price for this melon crop in the last four seasons. In just six weeks, the wholesale price for watermelon in Ukraine has collapsed 15 times at once from the beginning of the season. The supply of watermelon on the market may continue to grow for at least two more weeks, which may further adversely affect prices. Manufacturers fear that it will be simply unprofitable to remove it. A more systematic export of watermelon could support prices, but prices in Poland also dropped by 30%, which makes export not very profitable.
