The low quality and the bad crop of dates in Tunisia and Algeria contributed to the decrease of imports this year by more than 35%. Both countries are accounting for almost 90% of France's imports. The importers are ccurrently estimating an extensive demand starting next March to prepare for Ramadan and increase the volume. Still, they are expressing pessimistic view on trade situation regarding the pandemic and hoping to reach 90% of last year's volume. The prices are slightly decreasing this month, but is expected to rise in March.
