Grape farmers in the Dodoma region of Tanzania are facing a surplus in the market after the main grape storage facility reached its capacity during the peak grape production season. Two Tanzanian juice processing factories are experimenting with the possibility to use the famous Dodoma grapes to make juice by running a comparative analysis between imported and domestic concentrates.

The experiment is geared towards finding new markets for grape farmers instead of relying on the strong liquor and wine makers who are faced with an oversupply this year and failed to buy, leaving farmers with the high possibility of harvest loss. Further considered action following the analysis include an increase in the excise duty imposed on imported wine and concentrates.
