In the span of January to August the export of dragon fruit from Indonesia grew to around 13% compared to the previous year, which has now put Indonesia as the second biggest exporter of dragon fruit in Southeast Asia behind Vietnam. This achievement also marks the second consecutive year that the export volume of dragon fruit booked a growth after 8% and 12% in 2018 and 2019 respectively. China, Taiwan, and Hong Kong are still the biggest market for Indonesian dragon fruit with an average of 200 MT exported to each country every year since 2018. In general, the export of tropical fruits from Indonesia in the period of January to August 2020 has grown to 22% in comparison to the same period the year before with dragon fruits, mango, and pineapple leading the way.
