With the current development between Russia, the number one producer of wheat, and Ukraine, the number five producer of wheat, the Nigerian Federal Government has implored the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (FMARD) to trigger the Cassava Bread Development Fund. The Federal Government created the Cassava Bread Fund as part of the transformation policy in the agribusiness sector. The fund wishes to ensure Nigeria to become the largest cassava processor. It is funded through tariffs on wheat flour to prevent an unimaginable spike in the cost of bread and ensure that cassava makes up a large percentage of the constituent of bread.
