In China, the market price of Uruguayan beef during W1 2023 did not differ much from W1 2022. References for Chuck and Blade were at USD 4,750/ton, shin & shank at USD 6,600/ton CFR, round cuts at USD 5,600/ton, and eye round at USD 6,700/ton, all CFR. Sales made from Uruguay were of 80vl trimmings at USD 3,450/ton and bone-in beef quarters at USD 3,900/ton, both CFR. For reference, Chile is a country that does not pay tariffs thanks to the Free Trade Agreement with China, sold bone-in beef quarters between USD 4,600 and USD 4,700/ton CFR. Uruguay, Argentina, and Brazil have to reduce their price to compete with Chile.
