Bad weather, poor fishing, and huge demand for salted cod from stockfish producers drive high prices. The attached photo shows the comparison between the prices of WK 4-8 in 2022 and WK 4-8 in 2021. European buyers believe that prices will come down soon as there is one week without the storm. However, exporters in Norway feel different, stating that there has not been such a good demand in 5 years, simply not getting enough fish.
