A fishery method call aquaponic has become more and more popular among the freshwater catfish industry in the Central Java province in Indonesia as this method allows them to utilize their fish ponds to also grow vegetables such as green tomato and chili pepper. In this method, the polybag with tomato or chili pepper plants can be put around the fish pond and the watering of the plant can be done using the water every time there's a water change and the farmers can use the remaining fish feed and fish excrement as the natural fertilizer for the soil. Although the production output is not as big as the dedicated plantation, this method has become more and more commonly employed in almost every catfish farm due to its practicality and ability to produce without having to put in too much effort in maintaining the plants.
