Leading up to the Idul Adha holiday in Indonesia, the price of coconut milk at some of the major markets in Indonesia has shown an upward trend in the past week. Currently, coconut milk is sold at the average price of IDR 40.000/Liter, up from its highest average price at IDR 35.000/Liter in the past three weeks of July 2020. Some sellers pointed out that the rising price is primarily attributed to the high demand for this commodity as Indonesia is entring its second-biggest national holiday of the year, where the demand for this commodity tends to go up as it has been traditionally used as an ingredient for traditional cuisine. Nonetheless, the sellers are optimistic that the price would go down in the first week of August 2020 as the demand would go back to its normal rate.
