The tough competition by Indonesian turmeric and turmeric powder exporters faced at the global level

The turmeric and turmeric powder suppliers in Indonesia are currently facing tough competition from their Indian counterparts in terms of offering a competitive price to global buyers. Based on the latest FOB price released by the Indonesian exporters association, Indonesian turmeric is currently offered at USD 1.48/Kg, which is 30% more expensive than what Indian exporters can offer. Still, despite the relatively higher price of turmeric in comparison to the competitive price offered by Indian exporters, Indonesian suppliers can guarantee their turmeric contains more curcumin content (by roughly 1.48%-3.0%). This allows Indonesian exporters to offer their product to premium buyers who prefer and emphasize curcumin content and are willing to pay extra for the superior quality.
