The acceleration of trade with Russia through Turkey has angered Western countries, including the USA. After the 'warning letter' was sent to NGOs in June, a delegation from the US government arrived in Turkey on October 17 and warned Turkish business people and Ankara about the sanctions. The US delegation includes representatives from the US Department of State and the US Treasury Department, including Elizabeth Rosenberg, the US Under Secretary of the Treasury for Terrorism Financing and Financial Crimes.

It is stated that non-tariff barriers for Turkish trucks have started and inspections have increased in logistics, especially in Georgia, to slow down the flow of goods to Russia. Furthermore, it is reported that the shipowners have taken measures to avoid breaching the embargo. Additionally, there is also an attempt to cut the logistics line from China to Russia both by sea and rail.
