TMO to hold another wheat tender for additional 400 KMT

The Turkish Grain Board (TMO) has announced a new round of wheat tender that will continue its import series with an additional 400 KMT of food-grade wheat. The 6th round of wheat tender will be held on the 4th of December.
With this round of wheat tender, the TMO will have imported 2.2 million tons of wheat in less than 4 months.
Turkey's production output is estimated to be over 20 million tons, the bread prices are highly regulated by the government, and despite the high production yield the imports are said to be an attempt to stabilize bread prices domestically.
