Trout Exports Thrive in Türkiye, with Smoked Varieties Leading the Way

Türkiye's trout export industry had a strong start in the first half of 2023, generating USD 34.54 million from the export of 4,242 metric tons (mt) of trout. Notably, smoked trout exports were a standout, generating USD 22.43 million from 1,879 mt, while fresh frozen trout exports, amounting to 1,925 mt, contributed USD 9.78 million. The growing preference for smoked trout in international markets highlights its status as a valuable export commodity, prompting strategic considerations for Türkiye's trout exporters.
